ABOUT
VICTORIA MANNING
and
THE CREATION OF
THE VERNI
Victoria Manning, Owner of THE VERNI - Art, Gift and Coffee House - is an artist and designer living and working in her homeland of Nova Scotia. She had spent 19 years in Toronto and Montreal developing her skills and experiencing lots that the art and decor world had to offer. Her work has been displayed in Canada, United States and Europe and has been collected Internationally.
She has been involved in many forms of art from a very young age and spends most days painting. Her earlier works focusing mainly on nature landscape, she evolved into the realm of abstraction 12 years ago and often merges the two styles. For the most part, her work is large, and brightly colored yet brings a sense of calm into a space. She is an educated colorist, formally trained in the Interior Decor industry and her work flows with knowledge of balance, harmony and composition. Her paintings focus on taking viewers to familiar places and memories of traveled destinations.
Victoria explores and creates varying texture and shapes throughout her canvas using a variety of tools and brushes. It is these added details that allow a person to connect more deeply with her work.
The Inspiration in creating THE VERNI
Victoria feels her purpose is to help people connect to having fun, to a sense of freedom and excitement...to get their imagination flowing.
"I want them to see what they want to see, to feel alive when they spend time with my paintings. To uplift them and remind them of the importance of adventure". This passion for enjoying life and creativity has spilled into her newest project - THE VERNI. Located in the old bank in Caledonia (the Gateway to Keji), you will find not just a shop, but a destination space. THE VERNI Art, Gift and Coffee House showcases all Nova Scotian Artisans, curating a variety of mediums in an inviting, cozy, home meets gallery meets bistro vibe! The space has quickly become a community-loved gathering spot, which also hosts a variety of events.
